They have a reputation for being a wonderful influence in motivating others. Most importantly, this type of influence helps them excel and drive others to become motivated and excel.

Good Managers Engage in Conflict Resolution

The fourth quality of a good manager is the ability to engage in conflict resolution. This is one of the most challenging factors in a manager’s role. Therefore, it’s the reason that many leaders steer away from a management role or fail to succeed in this position.

People naturally dislike conflict and avoid it. Conflict resolution is about solving problems with clarity. Good managers give others decision making power and give suggestions. When you provide people with ownership of a problem, they commit to solving it.

As a result, a good manager treats matters with urgency and strives to get the job done when handling a conflict.

Good Managers Communicate

Finally, a good manager is a strong communicator. Successful conflict management cannot be made without having strong communication skills.

Subsequently, great leaders effectively communicate across multiple levels of an organization. And they are influential when they communicate. Good managers should be acquainted with colleagues both directly and indirectly. In other words, they are aware of and know who are the key players in an organization.
